In the first part of this piece, we looked at two important points needed to follow, to achieve a great university assignment. In case you missed it, you can read it HERE.

In this article, we will be revealing three more points that we believe can earn you the results you desire.

3. Do Research

Always look into the given topic to identify relevant information using trusted sources of knowledge like the course materials and recommended readings.

Make use of credible sources for gathering your information. Journal articles are constantly updated and have a better concentration on the topic than textbooks.

(N.B: Wikipedia is not a credible source because it’s open to public editing).

4. Take Referencing Seriously

Many students aren’t aware that passing off someone else’s ideas as theirs is plagiarism, and it’s a severe offence anywhere. It’s simply stealing other people’s intellectual property. Whenever you pick statements online, note down the source and reference it using any such as APA, Harvard, Vancouver, Chicago, etc.

5. Edit and Proofread

Many students could have gotten higher scores in their assignments, but shoddy editing and proofreading take a lot from them. Whenever you are done writing, proofread properly and if you can, make use of editing softwares like Grammarly, JetPack and Hemmingway App. These apps have free versions.

University assignments are expected to be written in a formal tone. Instead of using complex vocabulary, it is advised that you write in a straightforward manner and stay on the topic as much as possible.

Although getting started as early as possible in your assignments is crucial to your success, elucidating your points clearly and concisely is much better. You won’t have to panic if you give yourself enough time to prepare, research, write, and review your work. In addition, you’ll be able to improve on your initial efforts once you begin on time.
