Your being in school will give you the chance to meet different people from various backgrounds, and you should be proactive enough and intentional about the relationships you build. As a student, you should see into the future and make friends who can help you reach your goals. This is not about being selfish; we all need each other to achieve our goals in life. Find people who are interested in your growth and make them your friends. School is a place to learn and build—your certificate, memory, yourself and, importantly, your relationships.

 Why do I need to build great relationships? Here they are; 

  • Create a circle of great people

Being intentional with your relationships will help you build a circle of like minds. You do not just find yourself amidst great people without working to earn it. You must create that circle you love to belong to. People you walk with might not look great currently, but they must have great minds. You must make friends with those who have dreams and aspirations that they are working towards each day. 

  • Leave your comfort zone.

Your good friends will challenge you to move out of your comfort zone. Nothing great is ever done in your comfort zone. If you have better friends than you, who understand that growth is not achieved in one’s comfort zone, you will automatically move out to face your fears. When you have friends who do not challenge you, it is an indication that you need to change the friends you walk with. 

  • For future connections

Someone once said that the people you gather as friends today are referred to as connection tomorrow. You need to build relationships with people who speak about great things in the future. Not just people who wish but people who have a plan towards their wishes; they are walking tall, keep them at close length. 

You need to build intentional relationships because school is the best place to meet different people. It will go a long way to determine what you will achieve and how fast you will achieve them. Start to work on your relationships today. Build a strong circle of friends.
